Fifteen years ago, Theodoric and his brother-in-arms Ulrich von Grevel accidentally came across a fragment of Aaron´s Rod - an ancient artifact too powerful for mere mortals. Now the young monk Malcolm has come to inform Theodoric that Ulrich has the idea of finding the remaining parts of the relic, and this will bring evil and untold suffering to the world.

Theodoric decides to get ahead of Ulrich and collect the missing fragments. A long journey awaits him across Europe and the Middle East. Other warriors will rise to his banner, from the elderly Teutonic veteran Reinhard von Kempten to the young ambitious mercenary Grimhild Eidottir and her band of Ravens. Each of them will have their own reasons for joining you, but little by little the fraternal bonds between you will become so strong that any obstacles and trials will be within your reach.
